Over 25 years involvement in park management, strategic planning, and trail and visitor experience development. Chris has recently developed and implemented many significant trail planning projects including the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley Trails Master Plan, Shire of Exmouth (Ningaloo) Trails Master Plan, Manawatu Gorge Mountain Bike Trails Business Case (New Zealand) and the Concept Plan for Cycling in Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park. Chris also played a lead role in the development of the Guidelines for Trail Planning, Design and Management for the Barwon South West Region of Victoria.
Chris also has extensive experience in community engagement and working collaboratively to promote cultural, recreation and park based initiatives and writing management plans with Traditional Owners for joint managed parks. Chris recently worked with the Gunaikurnai People and Parks Victoria to establish Joint Management plans for 10 Gippsland parks and reserves and worked with the Adnyamathanha Traditional Owners and the South Australian Government to develop the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park Management Plan. He also enriched the Kokoda Track trekking experience and assisted in keeping communities and trekkers safe during 18 months as Operations Manager on the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea.
