Prior to attending Northern Beaches Tourism Conference, TRC Tourism consultant Chris Ord headed up to the Blue Mountains to check out the third largest trail running event in the world (and largest trail based event in the Southern Hemisphere ), Ultra Trail Australia, which attracts 7000 participants, 12,000+ visitors to the area over the weekend and injects approximately $5 million plus into the local economy from event weekend alone, plus drives year round visitation.
