Together we will survive
For over 20 years TRC Tourism has supported the development and growth of the industry we know and love. And there’s one thing we’ve learnt – the strength of the tourism industry comes from our inherent style of working together, and how we manage our way through the COVID-19 challenge will define our industry for decades to come. There will be difficult conversations and decisions to be made throughout countries, regions and in individual businesses right now. We have faced crises before, though never quite this big, but we are confident that together we will get through this.
At TRC we’re holding fast to our mission to enhance people’s lives and the places they live through sustainable tourism, recreation and conservation. Right now, industry and community engagement and collaboration are even more important. We will continue to collaborate in ways that keep the safety of our communities, service providers and our team as our collective highest priority.
Rethinking the way we work
Our team have been working remotely for many years and our experience means that we can continue to support you throughout this time. Travel restrictions and social distancing requirements will impact on our ability to host face to face interactions with clients and stakeholders, we will utilise our experience with interactive online engagement tools to ensure ongoing collaboration with you and the projects stakeholders.
To support the community effort to fight and stay healthy during COVID-19 TRC’s entire team are working from home and practising social distancing. It’s all of our responsibility to stop the spread and protect our community.
How we can help
As a team, TRC are in a position of strength to assist the tourism industry to weather this storm, strengthen your capabilities and delivery during this time of adversity, and accelerate into the period of recovery.
During the weeks and months ahead, the TRC Tourism team will be delivering a range of programs that can assist your destination and operators through this time. Previous crises have shown how pent-up demand for travel can lead to a strong recovery.
We acknowledge that the industry will be very different from what it was, and the challenges your destination faces will change. With a thoughtful Destination Recovery Plan at the ready, we are available and committed to working with you to advance your path to recovery and ensure tourism in your region and your business return to sustainable growth as quickly as possible.
Our thoughts are with you and your families during this challenging time and we look forward to working with you to help the recovery effort for the tourism industry.
