TRC Tourism is working on a Visitor Plan for Porirua, a fast-growing city in the Wellington region of New Zealand. TRC Tracy Johnston and Eilidh Thorburn have spent the last week in Porirua talking to the community about how the city can respond and leverage exciting new projects that are in the pipe-line. The Plan will be informed by a range of views through consultation with a number of community organisations, businesses and individuals, with the aim of the consultation to find out how the Visitor Plan can best tell the Porirua story to visitors, and ensure Porirua is ready to harness the growth that lies ahead.
