Project Description
TRC prepared the state-wide strategy for consistent and coordinated planning, development and management of quality trails and trail experiences throughout Western Australia. It covers trails for walking, biking, horse riding, water-based trails (paddling, diving), a trails for motor bike riding and 4WD touring. It aims to achieve sustainable outcomes for trail supply, experiences, community health and wellbeing and the local, regional and State visitor economies.
The Blueprint replaces Western Australia’s earlier Trails Strategy, building on achievements and the State’s strengths while taking account of changes in trail markets and preferences and addressing improvements in collaborative approaches in governance, planning, design and development of trails at the State, regional and local levels. It is being prepared in close consultation with local and regional government, land and resource management agencies, the tourism industry, trail support groups and the community.
