TRC Tourism is a leading tourism planning company with offices across New Zealand and Australia. We are seeking expressions of interest from:
a) experienced tourism professionals interested in being considered for part time or sub-contracting work as well as
b) project support/research team members to work with our consultants.

These are New Zealand based positions and work can be carried out from either our Wellington office or remotely.

Tourism Planning Specialist

Essential skills

  • High level communication skills including ability to facilitate workshops and meetings
  • Exceptional professional writing skills
  • Analytical mind and ability to think creatively and solve complex issues
  • Project Management capability
  • Willing and able to travel
  • Minimum four years’ experience in the tourism, parks or recreation sectors ideally in consulting role.

If you have expertise in more than one of the following areas, and are prepared to travel, we would like to hear from you.

  • Tourism planning – destination planning, product development, feasibility studies, marketing
  • Natural area visitor management
  • Socio economic impact assessment in the tourism industry
  • Visitor market analysis and research.

This is a part time position and hours will fluctuate.

Remuneration will be dependent on skills and experience.

Project support and research officer

Essential skills

  • Strong communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and backgrounds
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to undertake research including data analysis and social survey
  • Project coordination and logistics
  • Excellent written communication skills including report writing, preparation of infographics, presentations and innovative ways to represent information.
  • Analytical mind and ability to think creatively and solve complex issues
  • A can-do attitude
  • Willing and able to travel
  • Experience in the tourism industry an advantage but not essential.

This is a part time position and hours will fluctuate. Work can be carried out from either our Wellington office or remotely.
